At EasyAmis, I believe that every free pattern represents hours of love, testing, photography, and writing. Even when a pattern is offered for free, it is still protected by copyright law.

This page explains how copyright works on EasyAmis and how to report any concerns under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

1. Our Commitment to Original Creators

Every pattern published on EasyAmis includes:

  • A clear link to the original designer’s website or pattern page

  • The designer’s name (or social handle)

  • Original photos (either from the designer or taken with permission)

I never rehost patterns as my own. EasyAmis is a directory and library of links that help you find free amigurumi patterns — not a place that steals or republishes others’ work.

2. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent and believe that your work has been copied, displayed, or linked on EasyAmis in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please notify me immediately.

Under the DMCA, your notice must include the following information:

A. Identification of the copyrighted work
Describe the pattern, photo, or content you believe has been infringed.

B. Identification of the infringing material
Provide the specific URL(s) on EasyAmis where the material appears.

C. Your contact information
Full name, email address, and (optional) phone number or mailing address.

D. A statement of good faith belief
You must state that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

E. A statement of accuracy and authority
You must state, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

F. Your electronic or physical signature

3. Where to Send Your DMCA Notice

Please send all DMCA notices to:

I aim to respond to valid DMCA notices within 2–3 business days.

4. What Happens After I Receive a Notice

Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA notice, I will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt of your notice via email

  2. Review the content in question

  3. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material

  4. Notify the user (if applicable — though EasyAmis does not have user accounts, I will remove the link/page)

If the material was linked to a third‑party pattern that the designer themselves submitted or approved, I will reach out to clarify.

5. Counter‑Notification

If you believe that your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter‑notification to me at:

Your counter‑notice must include:

  • Identification of the removed material and where it appeared

  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake

  • Your name, address, and email address

  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal court (or Massachusetts / Delaware, if outside the US — standard DMCA language)

  • Your electronic or physical signature

Upon receiving a valid counter‑notice, I will forward it to the original complainant. If I do not receive notice of a court order within 10–14 business days, I may restore the material.

6. Repeat Infringers

EasyAmis has a zero‑tolerance policy for repeat copyright infringement. If I determine that any user or contributor repeatedly violates these terms, I will permanently remove their content and block future submissions.

7. Important Notes

  • I am not a lawyer. This DMCA Notice is provided in good faith to comply with US copyright law. For specific legal advice, please consult an attorney.

  • Filing a false DMCA notice or counter‑notice can result in legal penalties. Please only submit notices if you genuinely believe a copyright violation has occurred.

8. Good Faith Respect for Creators

Most issues are simple misunderstandings — not malice. If you are a designer who simply wants credit changed, a link updated, or your pattern removed from EasyAmis for any reason, please just email me kindly. I’m a solo crocheter, not a corporation. I will do my best to make things right.
